Evening primrose oil is a natural supplement to support healthy skin. The oil contains the polyunsaturated fatty acids gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and linoleic acid (LA).
GLA is important for mucous membranes, skin and hormones. Linoleic acid is found in several vegetable oils, but evening primrose oil is one of the few oils that also contains a high concentration of GLA. A healthy animal converts part of the linoleic acid from evening primrose oil into GLA itself.
In addition, evening primrose oil is rich in omega 6 fatty acids. Animals cannot produce these fatty acids themselves. This supplement provides a supplement to a balanced animal diet.
For dogs and cats with skin problems (such as red, dry or chapped skin), evening primrose oil can be used to soften and protect the skin. It is also good for the skin connective tissue and supports the ability to recover.
For animals with allergies, this supplement can be combined well with Scutellaria Tincture .
The GLA also has an anti-inflammatory and restorative effect on problems in the bladder mucosa. This makes Evening Primrose Oil a good supplement when the Solidago complex (bladder and kidney) is given.
